This website is operated by KS Metrology Solutions GmbH. We process personal data only to the extent described below and in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG).
The controller is KS Metrology Solutions GmbH. Postal address and company details are listed in the Imprint. For questions about data protection, write to office@s1usb.com.
This website is hosted by a hosting provider in the European Union, which processes data on our behalf as a data processor under Art. 28 GDPR. When you visit the website, the web server automatically records the following data in server log files:
This data is required to deliver the website, to keep the service secure and stable, and to produce aggregate access statistics. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure and efficient operation of the website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Log data is not merged with other data and is not used to identify individual visitors. It is deleted by the hosting provider after a short period in line with its retention policy for log files.
If you subscribe to our newsletter about the S1/S2 USB Adapter, we store your e-mail address and any optional details you choose to provide (for example your name or company). We use this data solely to send you the newsletter.
We use a double-opt-in procedure: after signing up you receive a confirmation e-mail, and your address is only added to the mailing list once you have clicked the confirmation link. We record the time of sign-up and confirmation as proof of consent.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time via the unsubscribe link contained in every newsletter or by e-mail to the address above. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. Your data is deleted when you unsubscribe.
The newsletter is sent from our own systems. No external mailing service is involved, and your data is not passed on to third parties.
If you contact us by e-mail, we process the data you provide (such as your name, e-mail address and the content of your message) in order to handle your inquiry. The legal basis is the performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR) or our legitimate interest in answering inquiries (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). We keep this correspondence as long as necessary to handle the inquiry and to meet statutory retention obligations.
Orders are placed by e-mail. To process an order we use the data you provide, such as your name, postal and billing address, e-mail address and, if given, your telephone number, together with the details of the order. The legal basis is the performance of the contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). Invoices and accounting records are kept for the statutory retention period of seven years (§ 132 Austrian Federal Fiscal Code, BAO; Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR).
For delivery we pass your name and shipping address to the parcel service that carries the shipment. For shipments outside the European Union, the data required for customs clearance is also passed to the customs authorities.
You can pay by bank transfer, via PayPal or by credit card. Payments via PayPal and by credit card are both processed by PayPal: you enter your payment details directly with PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg. PayPal processes this data under its own responsibility; we do not receive your card details. From PayPal we receive the confirmation of payment together with your name, e-mail address and the shipping address you entered there. PayPal may also process data outside the European Economic Area; details are given in PayPal's privacy statement: www.paypal.com/at/legalhub/paypal/privacy-full.
This website does not use cookies, tracking, analytics tools or embedded content from third parties. Fonts and all other resources are delivered from our own web server, so no connection to external providers is established when you visit the site.
Apart from the processors, the parcel service and PayPal named above, we do not pass personal data on to third parties. We do not transfer data to countries outside the European Economic Area ourselves; for shipments to such countries the shipping data goes to the carrier and the customs authorities of the destination country, and PayPal's processing is described in its own privacy statement.
The website is delivered over an encrypted connection (TLS). We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, and to request rectification, erasure or restriction of processing. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Where processing is based on legitimate interest, you can object to it. You also have the right to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at office@s1usb.com.
If you believe that the processing of your data infringes data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority: Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.
We will update this privacy policy when our processing activities change, for example when new services are introduced. The current version is always available on this page.
